Redwood Trails Alliance (RTA) will lead two brushing maintenance work days on Ridge Trail, with two RTA Crew Leaders supervising six seasoned volunteers on Tuesday May 5th and Thursday, May 7th. Work will focus on improving trail safety and passability through removal of downed trees and woody debris and vegetation management along the tread and within the trail corridor.
Planned tasks include:
Cutting and removing downed trees obstructing the trail, as well as logs/limbs within the corridor that impact safe passage and sightlines.
Clearing accumulated wood debris from the tread and corridor to reduce hazards and improve drainage performance.
Vegetation removal and brushing using string trimmers and power hedgers to reclaim the established corridor, reduce encroachment, and improve user visibility.
We will meet at the Warren Richardson parking lot, shuttle up to Two Quarry picnic area, and hike in via Marsh Trail to access Ridge Trail. NOTE: This workday is longer than usual (9 am to 2 pm) to ensure we get the work done!
More trails, better trails!
